At A Place to Turn, we are honored to welcome Lorraine Derosa to our clinical team. Lorraine brings not only her professional expertise, but also a holistic, creative, and deeply compassionate approach to the healing space.
Lorraine supports individuals, couples, and families navigating generalized anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions. With a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from The School of Visual Arts in New York, she draws upon her rich background in both clinical and creative therapies—including her work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New Alternatives for Children foster center.
Now serving the Los Angeles community, Lorraine works with clients of all ages using a warm, patient-centered process that integrates talk therapy, mindfulness, narrative work, and expressive tools like art and play. She is also trained in CBT, trauma-informed care, ADHD and autism support, and the Gottman Method (Levels I and II) for couples.
A native English speaker who is also fluent in French and Spanish, Lorraine brings cultural sensitivity and inclusive care to every session. Outside of therapy, she is a published writer in global outlets such as The New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal, exploring themes of human and child development, health, and well-being.
