At A Place to Turn, we are honored to welcome Alexandra Burke, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, to our Pasadena clinical team. Alexandra works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, major life transitions, and uncertainty about career or life direction. She understands how easy it can be to feel caught in cycles of overthinking, negative self-talk, emotional distress, or relationship conflict—and helps clients find greater clarity, connection, and fulfillment.

Alexandra brings a warm, relational, and compassionate presence to therapy. She creates a supportive environment where clients can feel deeply understood while also being gently encouraged to explore patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping them stuck, and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Her therapeutic approach is relational and attachment-focused, helping clients understand how past experiences and important relationships may influence the ways they think, feel, and connect with others today. Alex works collaboratively with clients to navigate difficult emotions, reduce rumination and self-criticism, strengthen emotional regulation, and identify choices that are more aligned with their values and the lives they want to create.

Alexandra has a particular passion for relationship and couples therapy. She helps couples recognize recurring patterns of conflict, better understand the emotions and needs beneath those patterns, and develop healthier ways of communicating and connecting. Whether couples are preparing for marriage, struggling with disconnection, or simply wanting a stronger relationship, Alex provides a balanced space where both partners can feel heard and work toward greater emotional intimacy.

Her own experiences navigating career transitions and anxiety also inform the authenticity and empathy she brings to her clinical work. Alex understands that uncertainty can be uncomfortable, particularly when questions about career, relationships, identity, or the future begin to overlap. She helps clients move beyond feeling stuck by developing greater self-understanding, identifying what matters most to them, and taking intentional steps toward values-driven change.

Alexandra's areas of focus include anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, coping skills, emotional regulation, life transitions, career and life-direction concerns, and marital and premarital counseling.

Alexandra earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.
