Meet Jennifer Milgram, AMFT #116012

Supervised by Debbie Kenney, LCSW #95770

At A Place to Turn, we are honored to welcome Jennifer Milgram, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, to our Westlake Village clinical team. Jennifer works with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the everyday stressors that can make life feel overwhelming. She is passionate about helping clients discover their inner strengths, build resilience, and create lasting, meaningful change.

Jennifer brings a warm, approachable, and engaging presence to therapy. She believes people grow best when they feel genuinely seen, accepted, and understood. Her goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to be themselves, openly explore life's challenges, and move toward healing with hope, confidence, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Her therapeutic approach is strengths-based, solution-focused, and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-informed practices. Jennifer helps clients identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen emotional awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and build stronger communication and relationships. She believes that even during life's most difficult seasons, every individual possesses strengths that can become the foundation for healing and personal growth.

Jennifer is especially passionate about helping clients reconnect with the resilience, abilities, and positive qualities they may have lost sight of over time. She enjoys guiding clients from self-criticism toward greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence while providing practical tools they can apply in everyday life. Jennifer believes therapy should offer both meaningful insight and real-world strategies that support sustainable, long-term change. When appropriate, she incorporates warmth and humor into the therapeutic process, recognizing that moments of lightness often strengthen connection and make difficult work feel more manageable.

Outside of her clinical work, Jennifer values authentic connection, balance, and overall well-being. She enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, hiking, beach days, traveling, and making memories with her family and dogs. Her appreciation for connection, movement, and nature reinforces her belief that healing extends beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.
