At A Place to Turn, we are honored to welcome Leslie Barton, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, to our Pasadena clinical team. Leslie believes that being truly heard—without shame, judgment, or agenda—is itself a powerful form of healing. She creates a warm, collaborative, and person-centered environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and move toward lasting change.
Leslie works with individuals, couples, and older adults navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, personal growth, and those moments when life feels uncertain or stuck. Whether you're standing at a crossroads, experiencing a significant loss, or simply longing for a deeper sense of purpose and connection, Leslie is honored to walk beside you with compassion, curiosity, and genuine care.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, collaborative, and integrative, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Leslie thoughtfully blends Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness practices, and creative arts interventions to support meaningful exploration while helping clients move toward practical, sustainable change. Together, you will identify strengths, explore new perspectives, and build a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals.
Before becoming a therapist, Leslie spent 30 years as a professional photographer, documenting some of life's most meaningful and defining moments. Through that work, she developed a remarkable ability to truly see people—their stories, emotions, resilience, and humanity. Today, she brings that same attentive presence into every therapy session, helping clients feel deeply understood while honoring the complexity of their lived experiences.
Leslie believes healing unfolds through authentic connection, compassionate curiosity, and the courage to embrace life's unfolding story. She is committed to helping clients discover greater clarity, resilience, and hope as they navigate life's challenges and opportunities for growth.
