At A Place to Turn, we are honored to welcome Teresa Calabrese Roof, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, to our clinical team. Teresa creates a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where individuals and families can process challenges, discover strengths, and move toward meaningful healing.

Teresa earned her Master’s degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and completed her clinical training at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in the Patient Family Support Program, where she walked alongside patients and families during chronic illness, cancer care, grief, and end-of-life transitions. These experiences shaped her ability to hold space for deep pain and complex emotions with steadiness, empathy, and care.

Her passion lies in supporting those navigating grief, trauma, perinatal challenges, and medical issues. Drawing from her clinical expertise, years of community involvement, and her own personal journey, Teresa integrates trauma-informed care with compassion, cultural responsiveness, and an empowering approach. She is especially attuned to helping clients build resilience, emotional regulation, and connection—tools that allow individuals to heal and thrive.

Known for her depth of presence and genuine warmth, Teresa guides clients through life’s transitions with authenticity and hope. Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that healing unfolds when individuals feel truly seen, supported, and encouraged to embrace new possibilities.
